GCSE Results Day: Thursday 25th August 2022

We are really looking forward to welcoming you and your family to our GCSE and BTEC results day.

Your results will be available for collection from 8am on Thursday 25th August 2022. Please arrive at the main academy entrance where staff will be on hand to direct you to collect your results. After you have collected your results, you will meet a member of the Post-16 team.

You will have the opportunity to sign up for Sixth Form. Please ensure that you have confirmed your destination before leaving the site. If you have any queries or questions regarding your results, you will be able to speak to members of staff including the Post-16 team and Senior Leadership Team. Staff will also be available to provide careers advice online.

What happens if I am unable to attend and want someone else to pick up my results for me instead?

Another person may collect your results however, you must send in a signed letter identifying the person collecting your results. This can be done via email or by the postal system. The individual collecting your results must bring proof of identification so this can be verified with the information in your letter. Please be aware that results cannot be given out without this.

What happens if you do not collect your results on Results Day?

If you do not collect your results on Results Day, they will be sent in the post to the address that we hold on our Academy system. Results will be sent to your Academy e-mail address on the afternoon of 25th August.

Friday 2nd September is the first day back for all new Year 12 students. During the day, students will take part in Taskmaster style activities across both sites to enable students to meet their subject teachers and peers. Please arrive at the main entrance of Sir Thomas Wharton Academy at 8.45am. The day will finish at 12.30pm.

Residential: Thursday 22nd – Friday 23rd September 2022

This year, for our new Year 12 students we have planned an exciting residential trip to Cambridge and Thorpe Park. The trip will include coach transportation to Cambridge on Thursday 22nd September where we will spend the day doing a treasure hunt around the city taking in all the sights and universities on the way. Accommodation will be at the Cambridge Youth Hostel which will include an evening meal, breakfast the following morning and a packed lunch for the day in Thorpe Park. On the evening of the 22nd September, we have planned to go ten pin bowling. After breakfast on Friday 23rd, we will travel by coach to Thorpe Park for the day, before heading back on Friday evening. This will cost £95 per student and a £25 deposit will be required on ParentPay by Friday 2nd September 2022. Places are limited. Please complete the form as soon as possible to indicate whether or not you wish for your child to attend – link below. https://forms.office.com/r/3euY0TzfVL  This will enable us to add the amount to ParentPay and send further communication and consent forms nearer the time. Please contact us if you have difficulties paying for this trip but would still like your child to attend.

Transition Projects

At course launch your teachers will have explained about transition projects or preparation projects. These projects will be available on our website www.mltpost16.com/year-11-prep-projects for you to access and start completing over the summer. This is a vital part of your transition into Post 16 to give you a starting point and introduction into your subject area and the level of expectation in Post 16.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
