Congratulations to Year 11 at Sir Thomas Wharton Academy for the outcomes achieved in their GCSE and Applied subjects. The results reflect their dedication and commitment to achieving their goals.
Significant gains have been made in all key measures this academic year moving our attainment measures higher in the Local Authority performance tables: 77% of students achieved Grade 4 English with 58% achieving Grade 5; a strong pass. This is an improvement of over 12% in both since last year. 74% of students have achieved a Grade 4 standard pass in Maths; an improvement of 9% and ranked fourth in a Local Authority of 18 schools. 48% achieved Grade 5 in Maths ranking us sixth in the Local Authority; an improvement of 8% and 8% above last year’s national average.
The percentage of students achieving a Strong Pass in both English and Maths has also risen by 9% to 40%. The Standard Pass for both has risen by 13% to 67% exceeding the 2018 National average.
There were many other improved performances in different subjects.
